Prochlorococcus

This project is inspired by Prochlorococcus, the smallest photosynthetic organism on Earth. But this little bacteria produces up to 20% of the oxygen in our entire biosphere. That’s a higher percentage than all of the tropical rainforests on land combined. I used graphic language in processing to translate the contrast between the small scale of Prochlorococcus and the massive amount of oxygen they produce. Underneath is the bio-system of Prochlorococcus created by cellular automata. The cellular automata system is a complex system that allows  the interaction between each neighborhood. Above Prochlorococcus’ system id the kinetic type of oxygen that provides a floating effect.
